The Montana State Basketball Championship is Montana’s first youth basketball circuit spanning all corners of the state. The MSBC’s circuit includes 8 of the largest tournaments throughout Montana and culminates in Montana’s first Club State Basketball Tournament at the end of the season. Registered teams compete in qualifying events for a chance to earn an Automatic Bid to the State Tournament or secure an At-Large Bid to fill out the remaining bracket spots.

Yes, each team that registers must sign up for at least two Qualifying Tournaments to be considered for the State Tournament Weekend.
Yes, any team that competes in at least two Qualifying Tournaments at the highest available division will have their records from those tournaments count towards their season Win-Loss Percentage. Any available bids not secured by teams who received an Automatic Bid through winning a Qualifying Tournament will be filled by the teams with the highest Win- Loss Percentage. If there are 3 spots to be filled, the three teams with the highest Win-Loss Percentage will fill those places.
Although Automatic Bids can be secured by winning a Qualifying Tournament, seeding for the State Tournament will be determined by the Win-Loss Percentage of the 8 teams who have secured qualification.
Yes, in order for your Automatic Bid to be secured, or for a team’s record from tournament to count towards their Win-Loss Percentage, the team must be registered in the highest available bracket. If there is only one bracket or division in a tournament, then all games from that particular Qualifier will be included.
Yes, registration for eligible teams will close on February 27th. If a team wishes to be considered, they must have submitted a registration form and a roster by that point.
No, players can only register to play on one team attempting to qualify for the State Tournament Weekend. For any special requests for players to leave one roster and join another, accommodations can be requested to us via email to review.
Along with eligibility to qualify for the State Tournament Weekend, all players and families will receive travel, hotel, and restaurant promotions from our partners during the season. Prior to the season beginning, registration packets will be mailed to coaches to share partnership perks to our members.
